WHO ARE WE

According to the most common story told by Confucius, the road of silk dates back to B.C. In 2640, he saw a caterpillar eating a mulberry leaf and spinning a cocoon in the palace garden of the Chinese Emperor Hoangti. The emperor gives the task of examining this caterpillar and cocoon to the queen. The Queen discovers that silk thread can be obtained from the cocoon that softens by falling into the teacup, and thus the adventure of silk until today begins.

Silk, which China kept as a secret for many years; The queen of fibers was seen as more valuable than gold. With the Western World solving this secret, the world-famous trade route, the Silk Road, starting from China and extending to Europe via Anatolia and the Mediterranean, was established. Thus, Anatolia has become a paradise for silk as well as all kinds of beauty.
In order to keep this commercial activity in Anatolia alive and to ensure security, the Seljuks built 11 caravanserais on these roads.

In the 16th century, Anatolia reached its golden age in terms of silk and silk products. During his reign, Yavuz Sultan Selim followed policies that directed the people to silkworm breeding.
Silk fabrics produced in Anatolia were in demand from many countries of the world. During the reign of Sultan Abdülmecit, silk weaving diversified as a result of the desire of the palace nobles and the people of the Ottoman Empire to wear fancy, heavy dresses. silk fabrics were woven.
